Hi! I am Aflatun Kaeser, an Economist and Data Scientist specializing in international economics, economic development, and environmental issues. I am currently a PhD student in Economics at the School of Economics of the LeBow College of Business at Drexel University (Philadelphia, USA). I recently completed an MS in Statistics and Quantitative Economics at Utah State University, where I worked on a USDA-funded research project analyzing trade policy using advanced causal inference techniques under the supervision of Dr. Sherzod Akhundjanov. I also hold an MS in Economics from the Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University, USA.

Previously, I served as an Economics faculty member at BRAC University in Bangladesh, where I established the country’s first Behavioral Experiment Lab along with Dr. A S M Shakil Haider. Before that, I worked as a Graduate Research Fellow at The Center for Growth and Opportunity at Utah State University with the immigration and experimental economics research group. I also served as a Teaching Fellow for quantitative courses such as Econometrics and Machine Learning at the Huntsman School of Business. My goal is to revolutionize education in Economics, Statistics, and Data Science through AI, making these fields more accessible and impactful, and research pressing international economics-related issues such as trade, conflict, migration, climate change, and other global environmental challenges using big data and experimental methods.

In addition to teaching and research, I mentor students pursuing higher education and advise government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private companies on development, environmental issues, leadership, and policy. Since 2013, I have been actively involved in efforts to conserve nature and natural resources and promote sustainable practices globally. My CV can be found here.
